How to Draw Cat Noir – Let’s get Initiated!

Step 1

We will start with this character’s hair and cat ears when we begin this guide on how to draw Cat Noir. This character has an excellent costume design, and we’ll draw him while rendering him in a dynamic pose. His hair is long and wavy, and you can draw it using many curved lines connecting and ending in sharp points. This character has a cat theme in his costume, as his name indicates, and to start this theme, we will also draw the cat ears of his costume. He uses some more curvy lines with dots on top of these ears on top of his hair. That’s all there is to do for this first step, and then we can move on to step 2!

Step 2

In this second part of your Cat Noir drawing, we will draw his facial details along with the beginning of his body and arms. First, draw a rounded shape with two halves for the mask under his hair. Inside this mask, draw some small connecting lines on the left for the blinking eye, and then draw the open eye on the right. Underneath this mask, you can use small lines for the smiley nose and mouth and then outline the face around them. For the chest, we’ll draw many curved lines together to show the wrinkles of his suit under his face. Finally, for this step, bring his shoulder closer to his head and add his arm behind his back.

Step 3

Continuing with this guide on how to draw Cat Noir, next we will add his other arm and the beginning of his legs. The other arm will be represented by extending his hand next to his face. Please do your best to replicate the lines precisely as they appear in our reference image to the best of your ability. Then you can draw his legs using some smooth, curved lines. The left leg will be straight and extended, while the right leg will be bent back, making his foot invisible on that leg.

Step 4

In this step of your Cat Noir drawing, we’ll finish the shoe on the left before moving on to some final details in the next step. His shoes are unique in design as they have some ridges near the top that stick out a bit. Then the shoe’s sole will be drawn with smoother curved lines, as shown in the reference image. As we mentioned in the previous step, we won’t be able to see the foot on the other leg, so you can now proceed to draw the final details in the next step.

Step 5

You’re almost ready to color your creation in the final step of this guide on how to draw Cat Noir, but before you get to that, you can finish the final details in this part. We’ll add the ribbon-like part extending from the cane he holds behind his back. This can be drawn with a long wavy line extending from the side of the leg so that it appears to flow down from the solid piece of the cane. You can then finish this step by adding some details of your own. One belief would be to draw a scene. If you do that, what setting would you pick for Cat Noir?

Step 6

Unlike his crime-fighting partner Ladybug, Cat Noir has a rather dark and muted color scheme on his costume. In our reference image, we took this approach by using various shades of gray to add some variety to the color of this Cat Noir drawing. You can use this as a guide if you want these precise colors for your image, or you can go for your variations! Once you know what colors you’d like, you can also have fun choosing and experimenting with various artistic mediums to achieve these color choices.
