By default, the language set for receiving messages is English. This service is accessible in 10 different languages. If you want to swap languages, you must send a code.
Languages and their code for the SMS service are
English (Default), Gujarati (GUJ), Hindi (HIN), Kannada (KAN), Punjabi (PUN), Tamil (TAM), Marathi (MAR), Bengali (BEN), Malayalam (MAL), and Telugu (TEL).
To change the language, you must send an SMS as ‘EPFOHO UAN HIN’ to 7738299899. By this message, the language of your received SMS will become ‘Hindi.’
Similarly, for Bengali, Marathi, or any other language, you need to enter their code in place of ‘HIN.’
Note: This facility is only accessible if you have an active UAN.
2. EPF Balance check through missed calls:
EPF balance check through missed calls is the most trouble-free method. You only need to enter the EPF balance check number 011-22901406 and give a missed call. You will receive a message containing your account and balance details.
To use this service, you need to fulfil the given requirements:
1. You should be a UAN active member.
2. Your mobile number should be registered with your UAN.
3. The UAN should be drilled with other important documents like Aadhaar, PAN, and Bank Account.
3. EPF balance inspection through the UMANG app:
EPFO provides various services via the online UMANG app. You can inspect your passbook or balance using this app. To approach this app, you must have a UAN and a registered mobile number to get an OTP.
By the given below steps, you can access the UMANG app:
Step 1: Download the UMANG app on your mobile and open it.
Step 2: Select the language and read all terms and conditions carefully.
Step 3: Click on the ‘I agreed’ option.
Step 4: Verify your mobile number and register it.
Step 5: Swipe down and choose the ‘All Services’ option.
Step 6: Select the ‘EPFO’ option from the opened list.
Step 7: Choose the ‘View Passbook’ option.
Step 8: Enter your UAN and select the ‘Get OTP’ option.
Step 9: Enter the OTP you received on your registered mobile number.
Step 10: Log in to your account and follow the steps that appear on the screen.
Now, you can inspect your passbook and PF balance.
4. Inquiring about EPF balance using the EPFO portal:
EPFO followers can verify their account balance by using the EPFO portal. For this service, follow the given below steps:
Step 1: Go through the official EPFO Website.
Step 2: Select the ‘Our Services’ option, and a drop-down menu will open.
Step 3: Choose the ‘For Employees’ option.
Step 4: Click on the ‘Services’ menu and choose the ‘Member Passbook’ option.
Step 5: Enter your UAN-ID and password.
Step 6: After login your account, go through ‘Member IDs’ linked with your account.
Step 7: Click on that Member Id you want to look for details.
The selected EPF passbook will appear.
