· Start with the first manga in series
Manga are available in series form and a lot of stories are found here. Start your work with the first story and then go onward so it is convenient to understand. If a series is popular then all the stories or parts are available in one volume. This thing is mentioned on its cover.
· Put your book with the spine on right side
Manga is read with the magazine or book spine on the right side. When you put the manga on the table it is compulsory that leaf ends are on the left side and spine is placed to right. This is the reverse of English books.
· Start from the title, author name and edition
It is important to start reading from the correct side of panel. Title and author name are written on the first page of manga. If you are reading from the wrong side then flip the manga.
3: Reading Panels
· Read the panel in correct sequence
Like the all other start to read from right to left. Start to read from the top right corner of the page. When the line is end go far right of the following row.
- Start with top most side, if the panels are arranged in vertical manner.
- It is important to start reading from right to left whether the lines are arranged in correct manner or not. Start with the highest row or column and then come to downward.
· Read dialogue balloons in correct sequence
Dialogue balloons in which the chatty text are present must be read from right to left side and from top to bottom.
· Black panel background
The black background in the panel indicates the flash back. This signalized that this event had occurred in past.
· Changing back ground from black to white
At the top which panel has black background it shows the past. Then slowly the panel becomes shading to gray and finally reach to white which indicate the present time.
4: Reading character’s emotion
· Read the sign bubbles
When there is empty dialogue box or empty space below their mouth this means that the character is expressing their emotions just by saying no words or with the help of expressions.
· Interpret lines across the face
Manga’s character sometimes expressed as blushing with lines drawn across the nose and cheeks. These expressions show the emotions as embarrassed, delighted or having romantic feelings for other character.
· Read nose bleed as lust instead of injury
When a character appears on a page of manga as the nose is bleeding this not termed for injury but this symbolized that they are having lustful thoughts about the another character or they both are staring each other lustfully.
· Drop of sweat as embarrassment
The sweat drop on the head of the character shows that the character is feeling embarrassment. This is less severe than by blushing to see other character. This drop is found on the top of head. This also indicated that the character is feeling uncomfortable in the given situation and trying to hide the expressions.
· Facial shadows and dark auras
A shadow floating in background or purple, gray and black spot in the background is shown in the manga panel this means that the character is filled with negative energy.
The manga is easy to read if the four steps are followed. In the manga panel the key point is start reading from right to left and top to bottom.
