There are a number of petrol-powered scooters available today, but TVS Scooty Pep Plus is one of the smallest and most affordable. This scooter is designed for female riders because of its small dimensions and 88cc engine.

It has many unique features that set it apart from other scooters. It features a low oil indicator, under-seat storage, pillow grabrails, pillow seats, and footrests for the pillion. With the TVS Scooty Pep Plus update, the engine is now fuel-injected, and the 87.8 cc single-cylinder engine remains.

In 2005, TVS Motors introduced the TVS Scooty Pep Plus, which has remained a popular model. Because of its lightweight structure and small frame, it has been greatly favoured by women. Among its younger audience, its 88-cc engine has also proven highly convenient. A decade since its launch, the TVS Pep Plus has remained unchanged without significant modifications.

Features and specifications

Its four-stroke, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine has a compact design and a petite structure. Two model variants are available for the TVS Pep Plus, Glossy and Matte, which has a kerb weight of just 95 kg. Even though its frame is modest, it provides ample space for both rider and passenger. Neither the rider nor the pillion rider will be inconvenienced in this scooter since it has dual seating. The vehicle offers an impressive mileage of 65Kmpl and a fuel tank capacity of 5 litres.

The TVS Scooty Pep Plus scooters are equipped with halogen lighting and analogue consoles, which can be found in the scooter’s glossy and matte editions. The scooter features a small LED DRL for a modern touch. In addition to the 3D logo and an exclusive seat cover, the TVS Pep Plus Matte Edition includes a few other features.

Price

According to TVS, the ex-showroom price of the Pep Plus Refresh BS-VI variant starts at Rs 52,554 and reaches Rs 58,559. As for TVS Pep Plus Colours ME BS-VI, the starting price is Rs 53,754 and ranges up to Rs 59,824 that you can get on scooty EMI price, while TVS Pep Plus Mudhal Kaadhal, the starting price is Rs 56,085 and ranges up to Rs 59,621.

With its peppy and enthusiastic engine and a wide range of colours, the TVS Scooty Pep Plus appeals to young girls and adults. 87.8 cc single-cylinder air-cooled motor powers the scooter. It produces 5bhp at 6,500 RPM and 5.8 Nm at 4,000 RPM, allowing it to generate a total of 5bhp at 6,500rpm. A CVT gearbox will continue to be available on the scooter. Women and college-going crowds are the target market for this sporty 100cc scooter.

User-friendly

TVS Scooty Pep is a small vehicle that is simply self-starting and easy to ride, even by women. Since the release of this scooty PEP on the market, ladies’ usage of motor vehicles has increased, even with this vehicle’s self-starting feature. Over and above all of these, this vehicle has some drawbacks as well.

On the Scooty Pep Plus, you can see a distinctive and eye-catching design language. Despite the polarizing front design, the Pep Plus Scooter has an elegant side profile, while subtle design elements neutralize the overall appearance. Short riders will find the seat comfortable, and the compact footprint makes it easy to manoeuvre in tight spaces.

An 87.8 cc engine powers the TVS Scooty Pep Plus, producing 5.4 PS and 6.5 Nm of peak torque. Fuel injection with ETFI Technology is now standard on the Scooty Pep Plus due to the BS6 standard. A CVT gearbox couples the engine with the transmission. Despite its refinement level, the motor delivers excellent power. This TVS Scooty Pep Plus is a smooth, fuel-efficient two-wheeler for the city commute that provides decent performance for its class.

A telescopic suspension is used at the front of the Scooty Pep Plus, while a coil spring with hydraulic dampers is used at the rear. All road undulations and potholes are absorbed efficiently, so the ride quality remains smooth. In order to ride this scooter in a calm and relaxed manner, you must push the scooter hard to realize that the soft suspension has taken a toll on high-speed stability and driving dynamics.
